Cologne Beer & Food Experience – The Culinary Beer House Tour (English)

This unique experience combines Cologne’s famous beer house culture with a culinary tour featuring traditional local food.

Together with your guide, you will explore Cologne’s historic Old Town and visit several authentic beer houses. Along the way, you’ll hear entertaining stories about Kölsch beer, local traditions, the famous “Köbes” waiters and the history of the city.

The tour starts at the iconic Brauhaus Früh am Dom, one of Cologne’s most famous beer houses. Here you will be introduced to Cologne’s beer house culture while enjoying a traditional snack – Metthappen or Halver Hahn.

Throughout the entire tour, you can enjoy a Kölsch / soft drink flat rate, allowing you to fully experience Cologne’s beer house culture in a relaxed and social atmosphere.

The tour then continues through the Old Town to other traditional beer houses. Between the stops, your guide will share stories about Cologne’s history, its brewing traditions and the unique atmosphere of the city’s beer houses.

One of the highlights of the tour is the visit to the historic vaulted cellar at Gilden im Zims, a fascinating place where Cologne’s long history becomes tangible.

The culinary finale takes place at the Haxenhaus, located directly by the Rhine. Here you will enjoy a warm local dish called “Kölner Schmankerl”, the perfect ending to a tour dedicated to beer house culture and Cologne’s cuisine. A vegetarian option is available.

The tour lasts about 3 hours and takes place in small groups of up to 15 guests, creating a relaxed and sociable experience.
